Michael Saylor, the world’s largest public Bitcoin holder, disclosed purchasing 855 BTC for $75.3 million as prices briefly fell below $75,000. Strategy now holds 713,502 BTC, purchased at an average price of $76,052 per coin. Despite Bitcoin dropping below Strategy’s average purchase cost, Polymarket gives 81% odds of holdings reaching 800,000 BTC.
Strategy’s purchase brought total holdings to 713,502 BTC, acquired for about $54.26 billion at an average price of $76,052 per coin. This marked the first time Bitcoin traded below Strategy’s cost basis since 2023. Strategy launched the Bitcoin Standard in 2020 and had to slow buying in 2022 due to price drops.
Polymarket puts 81% odds on Strategy reaching 800,000 BTC. Despite Bitcoin’s weekend sell-off, bettors remain optimistic about Strategy’s accumulation. Reaching this level would require purchasing at least 87,000 BTC by the end of 2026. Last year, Michael Saylor predicted Bitcoin would hit $21 million per coin by 2046.
