Tallinna Sadam completed a new multifunctional quay at Paldiski South Port with a total investment of 64 million euros, including 20 million euros from the European Commission. The 310-meter long quay has a depth of 13.5 meters and a 10-hectare hinterland area, enabling the reception of oversized project goods. The quay’s use permit is issued, allowing immediate operations, with the first planned vessel calls bringing components for an onshore wind farm in Latvia. The quay is crucial for increasing sea transport capacity and supporting the construction of wind farms, positioning Tallinna Sadam as an important partner in the industry.

The new quay at Paldiski South Harbour, besides military use, enhances Tallinna Sadam’s sea transport capabilities, facilitating wind farm construction and maintenance. The quay enables the reception of specialized vessels and offers a large hinterland area for manufacturing and storing wind turbine components. Valdo Kalm, Chairman of the Board, highlights the potential for creating an integrated production, storage, and logistics center with the industrial park at Paldiski South Harbour. The quay’s versatility extends to servicing ro-ro ships as needed, further enhancing operational flexibility.

Tallinna Sadam, a key port complex in the Baltic Sea region, operates passenger and freight services, with subsidiaries providing ferry and shipping services. The group’s multifunctional vessel Botnica supports icebreaking and offshore projects, while its associate AS Green Marine offers waste management services. The completion of the new quay at Paldiski South Port strengthens Tallinna Sadam’s position as a leading player in sea transport, supporting various industries and projects in the region.
