The Labor Department’s jobs report on Friday will be closely watched, with expectations of a 70,000 job increase in January. The Institute for Supply Management will also release its manufacturing activity report for January, expected to inch up to 48.5. In overseas trading, Asian markets moved lower, while European markets are up. Oil futures are down to $61.82 a barrel, and gold futures are up to $1,763 an ounce. The U.S. dollar is trading at 155.25 yen and $1.1822 against the euro.
