Willmott Dixon will construct Visitor Centre and Forestry Skills Centre at Northern Roots, UK

Willmott Dixon selected by Oldham Council for construction of a new Visitor Centre and Forestry Skills Centre at Northern Roots, a key part of Oldham’s green space transformation project. £12.9m secured from Town Deal and Levelling Up Fund Round 2. Visitor Centre to offer facilities and Forestry Skills Centre for vocational learning opportunities.

Efforts since 2023 to enhance biodiversity at Northern Roots include planting trees, creating ponds, a community garden, and a wildflower meadow. Visitor Centre to be completed by summer 2026, part of broader Northern Roots project including car parking, access improvements, and outdoor amphitheatre. Project aims to benefit communities for generations to come.
