Stripe is developing a new US dollar stablecoin product for companies outside the US, UK, and Europe, expanding the dollar’s global reach. The move follows Stripe’s acquisition of Bridge, a stablecoin payments network founded by former Coinbase executives Zach Abrams and Sean Yu in 2022.

Stripe has a history with crypto, being the first major payments processor to integrate Bitcoin in 2014.
