Booking Holdings CEO Glenn Fogel received $126.4 million in “compensation actually paid” in 2024, including fair value awards for 2022-2024. Expedia’s new CEO Ariane Gorin earned $37.3 million. The SEC introduced the “compensation actually paid” metric in 2023. Fogel’s pay award was $44.8 million, Gorin’s was $24.9 million.

Fogel’s 2024 performance was praised by the board for leadership and company records. Booking Holdings’ median employee salary was $96,228, with a CEO to employee pay ratio of 466:1. Expedia highlighted stock price performance and operational efficiency in executive compensation decisions.

Expedia’s share price rose 73% in 2023, setting records for adjusted EBITDA and technological transformation. Gorin’s compensation reflects these metrics. Kern’s 2024 compensation was relatively modest due to his short tenure and lack of equity compensation. Fogel’s 2024 pay of $126.4 million far exceeded other hotel CEOs.

Gorin’s $37.3 million would place her third among hotel CEOs in pay. Other online travel agencies have yet to report CEO pay for 2024. A correction was made regarding former Expedia CEO Peter Kern’s compensation actually paid figure in 2024. Stay updated with travel news and insights at Skift.com.
