The global forecast for Asian markets is positive due to easing tariff tensions between the U.S. and China, with European and U.S. markets up. South Korea’s KOSPI closed higher on Friday, led by financial, chemical, and technology sectors. The index gained 23.97 points to close at 2,546.30 with 645 gainers and 238 decliners. In the U.S., major averages ended the week higher, with the NASDAQ up 6.7%, S&P 500 up 4.6%, and Dow up 2.5%.
Trade tensions between the U.S. and China are easing, with reports of China exempting some U.S. imports from its tariffs. U.S. consumer sentiment improved in April, according to the University of Michigan. Crude oil prices rose slightly on Friday, with West Texas Intermediate crude for June delivery closing at $63.02 a barrel.
