Connaught Plaza Restaurants (CPRL) plans to invest $150m to double McDonald’s store count in India to 600 by 2030. CPRL, a division of the $1.2bn MMG Group, aims to expand its network, focusing on Tier III cities. The group is modernizing outlets and introducing the “experience of the future” format.

Vice-chairman Anant Agarwal stated that new stores in cities like Gangtok, Siliguri, and Guwahati have seen promising sales. The expansion strategy includes smaller store formats to penetrate Tier III areas. Dine-in sales make up 65% of revenue, with delivery services contributing 35%. McDonald’s plans to increase its current 245 stores to 300 by 2025 and double that number by 2030.
