Risk Strategies, a North American specialty insurance brokerage, has acquired Houston-based GMC Advisors, specializing in commercial lines insurance. The deal’s financial terms were not disclosed. GMC Advisors, led by Greg Chubon, serves construction, manufacturing, and energy sectors, with clients in engineering, oil, gas, and petrochemicals in Houston.

Chubon, with 37 years of insurance industry experience, previously worked in new business development. He sees joining Risk Strategies as an opportunity to expand specialty focus and maintain high client service standards, offering new capabilities and career paths. Risk Strategies West region leader Pat Roth praised the expertise GMC Advisors brings to the company.

Risk Strategies has been active in acquisitions over the past decade, including McLaughlin Brunson Insurance Agency in 2016, Transport Risk Management in 2020, Fournier Group in 2021, and Burke Insurance Group in 2022. The company aims to strengthen its national capabilities in key industries through strategic acquisitions.
