Citi Markets hires former Goldman Sachs banker Christopher Chan

Citi Markets appoints Christopher Chan, former Goldman Sachs executive, as head of markets solutions for financial institutions in Asia South and Asia North. With 28 years of experience, Chan will focus on providing customized hedging, financing, and investment services to institutional clients, reporting to Cecile Gambardella and Sue Lee.

Chan, set to start in July from Singapore, previously held significant roles at Deutsche Bank, Nomura, and spent over a decade at Goldman Sachs. His new role at Citigroup involves overseeing the strategy for tailored solutions and developing services across the firm’s markets business.

This hiring follows a series of high-profile additions to Citigroup’s markets division in the region. Recent hires include Nattaphan Assavavisessivakul, Anand Goyal, and Ng Hooi Wan, who bring expertise from BNP Paribas and J.P. Morgan to strengthen the team. Goyal will focus on FX institutional sales across Asia, while Ng will lead the markets team in Malaysia.
