Woodside greenlights Louisiana LNG project, first LNG production anticipated in 2029

Woodside has approved the Louisiana LNG project, with first LNG production expected in 2029. The project will have three trains with a capacity of 16.5mtpa, contributing 5% of worldwide LNG supply. It is permitted for expansion with 27.6mtpa total capacity, aiming to generate $2bn annually. Woodside CEO Meg O’Neill is optimistic, touting the project as a game-changer for the company. Stonepeak will contribute $5.7bn towards the project’s total capital expenditure, estimated at $17.5bn. Woodside secures supply agreements with Uniper for 1mtpa from the Louisiana LNG project and up to 1mtpa from its global portfolio.
