French car parts supplier Valeo announced that 90% of its products made in Mexico and imported into the U.S. are now USMCA compliant. CEO Perillat stated that the company is relocating plastic moulds from China to Mexico or the U.S. to meet USMCA requirements. Valeo is also seeking compensation agreements with customers for tariffs.
In a call with journalists, CEO Perillat revealed that Valeo has signed deals covering over 75% of the tariff amounts. The company reported a 2.1% decline in first-quarter sales to 5.31 billion euros ($6.05 billion), meeting the company-provided consensus.
