Investors from around the world flock to Omaha for Berkshire Hathaway’s annual meeting, dubbed Warren Buffett’s “Woodstock for Capitalists.” However, some are hesitant to attend this year due to the current political climate, including a global trade war and tensions between the U.S. and China, impacting international travel.

Chinese investors like Xin Jin and others express admiration for Buffett but have concerns about traveling to the U.S. for the meeting. The demographics of attendees have shifted to include more international shareholders, with some opting to stay home due to political tensions and travel worries.

Berkshire’s annual meeting typically draws up to 40,000 people to hear from Buffett, Greg Abel, and Ajit Jain. The Q&A session will be broadcast on CNBC in English and Mandarin. Buffett has noted the growing number of international attendees and welcomes them, despite discontinuing special receptions for foreign visitors due to overwhelming demand.
