Cigna's EVP and CIO, Noelle Eder, resigns to lead technology at Standard Chartered bank.

Noelle Eder, Cigna’s EVP and global CIO, has resigned, effective May 16. Pending regulatory approval, she will join Standard Chartered as Group Head, Technology & Operations, reporting to CEO Bill Winters. Eder’s departure is the latest in a series of recent C-suite changes at Cigna, including appointing Brian Evanko as COO in March.

Eder, who joined Cigna in 2020, previously held leadership roles at Hilton Worldwide Holdings, Capital One, and Intuit. Her position expanded to include data, analytics, and automation in 2021. Cigna has been focused on technology, allocating $1.5 billion in discretionary capital expenditures last year, with a significant portion earmarked for technology initiatives.

Standard Chartered CEO Bill Winters stated that Eder will lead the bank’s efforts to deploy emerging technologies as they work to simplify systems and processes. Cigna did not respond to requests for comment but cited “personal reasons” for Eder’s departure in the SEC filing. The company continues to undergo leadership changes to drive innovation and enhance stakeholder service.
