Brazil's economy added fewer formal jobs in March than expected, with weaker figures since 2020.

Brazil’s economy added 71,576 formal jobs in March, below the 200,000 forecast. 2,234,662 jobs were opened and 2,163,086 closed. This was the weakest March figure since 2020. In the first quarter, 654,503 jobs were created, down from 725,973 last year. Labor Minister Marinho cited fewer business days affecting hiring.
