Australia services sector expands in April, but slower growth and decline in export business

The services sector in Australia continued to expand in April, with a PMI score of 51.0, although at a slower pace than in March. New business increased solidly, driven by client interests and promotional efforts. However, export business declined for the second consecutive month, impacted by US tariff policy. The slowdown in exports was the most pronounced since December 2023, indicating a deepening downturn in this area.
