Optimism over economic data and easing tariff concerns globally has led to positive forecasts for Asian markets. On Friday, the STI closed higher, driven by gains in financial and industrial sectors. Despite mixed performance in the property sector, the index ended up 0.33 percent at 3,845.14. Wall Street also saw gains, with the Dow up 1.39 percent, NASDAQ up 1.51 percent, and S&P 500 up 1.47 percent. U.S. job growth exceeded expectations, and China’s openness to trade talks boosted market sentiment. Crude oil prices fell on OPEC production concerns, with WTI crude dropping 1.6 percent to $58.29 a barrel. Singapore will release retail sales data for March today.
