Ford Motor (F) earnings Q1 2025

From CNBC: 2025-05-05 12:00:00

Ford Motor is set to report its first-quarter earnings with a focus on 2025 guidance and the impact of ongoing auto tariffs. Wall Street analysts expect earnings per share of 2 cents adjusted and automotive revenue of $36.21 billion, marking a 9.2% decrease in revenue compared to last year.

The tariffs, including 25% levies on imported vehicles, have caused growing uncertainty in the automotive industry, leading to downgrades in many automotive stocks. Ford has stopped exporting vehicles to China due to the tariffs but has not announced significant changes to North American manufacturing plans.

Ford CEO Jim Farley has not disclosed the financial impact of tariffs or plans to adjust 2025 guidance. Ford’s 2025 forecast called for adjusted earnings before interest and taxes of $7 billion to $8.5 billion, adjusted free cash flow of $3.5 billion to $4.5 billion, and capital expenditures between $8 billion and $9 billion.

General Motors recently lowered its 2025 financial guidance due to the tariffs, expecting a $4 billion to $5 billion impact. This is developing news, stay tuned for updates.
