J&J Medtech survey finds strong European support for healthcare data sharing

A survey by Johnson & Johnson (J&J) MedTech shows Europeans are willing to share healthcare data for personalised treatment plans. In Europe, 73% support data sharing, and 76% are excited about technology improving medical training. 65% are excited about AI in healthcare, rising to 86% among healthcare professionals (HCPs).
The survey had 11,412 general population and 964 HCP responses across 11 countries. J&J states people trust technology for healthcare and believe it will bring benefits. 89% of European HCPs agree data and technology support personalised treatment plans, with 92% believing in technology’s role in surgical precision and 90% in workflow improvement.
J&J MedTech conducted the survey to integrate technologies enhancing patient outcomes and addressing healthcare challenges. Innovations include AI tools for pre-surgery patient data analysis, cardio mapping systems for real-time insights, and surgical solutions like personalised total knee arthroplasty. Connectivity of data across systems is crucial for scaling these technologies.
Dr. Julia Fishman, head of digital solutions for EMEA at J&J MedTech, emphasizes the transformative potential of data and technology in healthcare. She notes the clear interest in data-driven care from patients and HCPs, highlighting the need for safe and meaningful technology implementation. European support for healthcare data sharing is strong, as revealed in the survey conducted by J&J MedTech.
