Stripe rolls out stablecoin accounts in over 100 countries

Stripe has introduced stablecoin-based accounts to clients in over 100 countries. The new feature allows clients to send, receive, and hold US-dollar stablecoin account balances. The product supports Circle’s USDC and Bridge’s USDB stablecoins. The stablecoin market cap has crossed $231 billion and continues to grow. Stablecoins are increasingly used as stores of value in developing economies. Blockchain payment rails are helping to bank the unbanked in developing regions. Residents of Latin American countries are using stablecoins as a store of value and for online purchases. Stripe integrated USD stablecoin payments in October 2024, with demand in 70 countries.
