Toyota predicts a 35% decrease in net earnings for FY2025

Toyota Motor Corporation reported a 3.6% decrease in net income to JPY 4,765 billion for FY2024, despite a 6.5% rise in revenues to JPY 48,037 billion. Operating income fell by 10.4% to JPY 4,795.5 billion, with an operating margin of 10.0%. Toyota aims to maintain its 10% operating margin through strategic investments.
For FY2025, Toyota predicts a 20% decline in operating income to JPY 3.8 trillion due to new US tariffs on vehicle imports and parts. The operating margin is expected to drop to 6.4%, and net profits to decrease by 35% to JPY 3.1 trillion. Global sales of Toyota and Lexus vehicles are projected to increase by 4.7%.
The company anticipates a 9% rise in North American sales to 2.94 million units, a 4% increase in Japan to 2.07 million units, and a 4.1% increase in European sales to 1.22 million units. Sales in Asia outside Japan are forecasted to grow by 3.4% to 1.9 million units.
