Evonik's Q1 profit increased significantly, despite a drop in revenues

Evonik Industries AG reported higher earnings in the first quarter, with net income reaching 233 million euros, a 49% increase from the previous year. Adjusted net income was 275 million euros, up from 197 million euros. Despite a 1% drop in revenue to 3.777 billion euros, adjusted EBITDA rose 7% to 560 million euros. Sales volumes increased by 2%, while prices fell by 2%. Free cash flow also saw a 53% increase to 195 million euros. Evonik reaffirmed its fiscal 2025 guidance of adjusted EBITDA between 2.0 billion euros and 2.3 billion euros, citing continued strong performance in the Animal Nutrition business. CEO Christian Kullmann expressed optimism for the future, despite global economic uncertainties.
