US-based Green Bay Packaging has chosen ANDRITZ to provide a recovery boiler, evaporation facility, and power boiler for its Arkansas pulp mill. The project includes automation and digital solutions, with commissioning set for 2027. ANDRITZ sees this as a significant step in expanding its presence in the US pulp and paper industry.

Green Bay Packaging, established in 1933, operates over 40 facilities in 16 states, specializing in various packaging products. The collaboration with ANDRITZ aims to enhance operational safety and availability at the Morrilton mill. The order includes a recovery boiler, evaporation facility, and a biomass-fired power boiler to be delivered in the latter half of 2027.

Jonathon Gates, director of the Morrilton mill, praised ANDRITZ for their commitment to collaboration in developing futureproof solutions. The partnership aims to increase operational safety, availability, and flexibility for the mill’s capacity expansions. The scope of supply includes advanced monitoring systems and automation solutions for the new equipment.

ANDRITZ North America’s senior vice-president, Jarmo Kaila, expressed gratitude for being selected as a partner for the modernization project. This collaboration aligns with ANDRITZ’s mission to provide innovative solutions for the pulp and paper industry. The project is expected to significantly enhance the mill’s operational efficiency and sustainability.

In September, ANDRITZ partnered with PulPac to supply Dry Molded Fiber lines for the alternative packaging market. This collaboration further solidifies ANDRITZ’s position in providing sustainable solutions for the packaging industry. The partnership with Green Bay Packaging marks another milestone in ANDRITZ’s commitment to modernizing the pulp and paper sector.
