GM hires ex-Tesla, Aurora exec Sterling Anderson as chief product officer

General Motors has hired former Tesla executive Sterling Anderson as its chief product officer. Anderson will oversee the product lifecycle for both gas and electric vehicles, including hardware, software, services, and user experience. He will report to GM President Mark Reuss. GM continues to roll out new technologies and electric vehicles to compete against Tesla and emerging Chinese auto startups. Anderson previously worked at Aurora Innovation and will start with GM on June 2.
