Japanese technology company SoftBank Group reported its first profit in four years, totaling 1.15 trillion yen ($7.8 billion) for the fiscal year through March. Sales rose 7% to 7.2 trillion yen ($49 billion). SoftBank warned of uncertainties due to President Donald Trump’s tariff policies and global conflicts. The company plans to aggressively invest in AI companies and acquire U.S. companies like Ampere for $6.5 billion. SoftBank’s investments include stakes in Alibaba and T-Mobile, with gains from Arm and SoftBank Vision Funds. They are also planning an IPO for PayPay, a popular Japanese mobile payment app.
