Korbel enters global sales partnership with Henkell Freixenet

California-based winemaker Korbel Champagne Cellars has partnered with Henkell Freixenet to manage global sales, marketing, and distribution. The deal positions Korbel for future growth, effective from 1 July. Henkell Freixenet’s subsidiary, Freixenet Mionetto USA, will oversee operations in North America, as Korbel ends a 60-year tie-up with Brown-Forman. Henkell Freixenet stated that the US is Korbel’s largest market. The company, founded in 1882, produces méthode champenoise sparkling wines and operates a brandy business. Henkell Freixenet plans to focus on further developing the brand in the US and expanding its presence globally. Henkell Freixenet CEO Dr. Andreas Brokemper expressed commitment to expanding the brand. Enore Ceola, president of North America and Mexico, emphasized the commitment to building the legacy of the brand and the Heck family. Henkell Freixenet was established in 2018 following the purchase of Spanish Cava producer Freixenet. The company operates in over 150 countries worldwide.
