Auric Mining starts mining at Munda gold mine starter pit in Australia, aiming for production.

Auric Mining has started mining operations at the Munda gold mine starter pit in Western Australia. They plan to extract 125,000 tonnes of ore with a grade of 1.8 grams per tonne gold at an AISC of A$2,635 per ounce. The company has secured funding for operations through mining at another site.

The ground-breaking event for mining at the Munda gold mine starter pit took place on May 10, 2025. Auric Mining has completed site preparation, including building infrastructure like haul roads, run-of-mine pads, and a waste dump. They also have a mine site office and camp in place.

Mining is currently underway at the starter pit, with the initial phase involving free-digging in the upper weathered portion. The company anticipates the need for blasting operations within the next two weeks as they reach fresher rock layers. The Munda gold mine has an estimated 145,000oz of gold resource.

Auric Mining’s managing director, Mark English, stated that they can currently dig without blasting, but anticipate the first blast in the next two weeks. The company aims to mine 125,000t of ore from the starter pit to produce around 6,100oz of gold. They are excited about the progress and quick production start.

In April 2025, Auric Mining initiated the development of the Munda gold mine by mobilizing plant and equipment for the starter pit. The company plans to move forward with detailed planning for the development of the Munda main pit after completing the starter pit operations.
