VanEck to launch its first RWA tokenization fund

From Cointelegraph. May 13, 2025 1:33:00 pm:

Investment firm VanEck launches VBILL, a tokenized real-world asset (RWA) fund with exposure to US Treasury bills, developed with Securitize. Minimum subscriptions start at $100,000 for Avalanche, BNB Chain, Solana, and $1 million for Ethereum. Competitors include BlackRock, Franklin Templeton, and Apollo. US Treasurys have a $6.9 billion market cap in tokenized funds.

Securitize, VanEck’s partner, has tokenized over $3.9 billion in assets. In May 2024, Securitize raised $47 million in a strategic funding round led by BlackRock. Tokenization of real-world assets offers faster settlement times and liquidity to previously illiquid assets. SEC Chair Paul Atkins sees the potential for blockchain to revolutionize the securities market by enabling new methods of issuing, trading, owning, and using securities.
