Mowi reported revenues of €1.36 billion and an operating profit of €214 million in the first quarter, showing growth compared to the previous year. With high volumes and lower costs, Mowi’s CEO, Ivan Vindheim, expressed satisfaction with the operational and biological performance in 2025.
The company’s strategic focus on volume growth was evident as Mowi slaughtered 108,000 tons in the quarter, a 12% increase from the previous year. Maintaining a volume guidance of 530,000 tons for 2025, Mowi also expects to slaughter 600,000 tons next year with the acquisition of Nova Sea.
Mowi’s consumer products division had a strong quarter, driven by high demand for salmon worldwide. Despite price pressure due to supply growth, Mowi’s downstream earnings improved in Europe, America, and Asia. Global supply growth in the first quarter was significant at 13% in Europe and 8% globally.
Mowi’s feed production unit, Mowi Feed, also delivered a strong quarter with record volumes and earnings. The company’s own feed has been instrumental in supporting the growth in slaughter volumes over the years, contributing to Mowi’s overall success in the aquaculture industry.
