Kura Oncology and Kyowa Kirin announce positive combination data for ziftomenib in AML patients

Kura Oncology and Kyowa Kirin Co., Ltd. announced that ziftomenib, an investigational menin inhibitor, will be presented at the 2025 European Hematology Association Congress on June 12th. The data comes from the KOMET-007 trial, showing promising results in patients with NPM1-mutant (NPM1-m) and KMT2A-rearranged (KMT2A-r) acute myeloid leukemia (AML). The Phase 1 trial evaluated ziftomenib in combination with standard treatments, such as cytarabine plus daunorubicin (7+3). Additional abstracts for other trials will also be presented at the conference. Ziftomenib has received Breakthrough Therapy Designation from the FDA for relapsed or refractory NPM1-m AML.

The latest findings from the KOMET-007 trial show the potential of ziftomenib combined with intensive chemotherapy for newly diagnosed AML patients. These results pave the way for the Phase 3 KOMET-017 trial, which will further evaluate this combination.
