Boeing secures a contract with Qatar Airways for 210 widebody aircraft, including 130 787 Dreamliners and 30 777-9s, with an option for an additional 50 jets. The 787 Dreamliner offers 25% fuel efficiency and range flexibility, while the 777-9 is the world’s largest twin-engine airplane, also with a 25% reduction in fuel use and emissions. Rising air passenger traffic and demand for fuel-efficient aircraft are driving growth in the commercial aviation market, with Boeing’s commercial aircraft backlog totaling $460 billion. Other defense companies like Airbus, General Dynamics, and Textron are also expected to benefit from market growth. BA stock has gained 11.9% in the past three months, outperforming the industry.
