Tesla adds Chipotle executive Jack Hartung to board and audit committee in board expansion

Tesla announced that Chipotle executive Jack Hartung will join its board of directors and audit committee in June, expanding the board to nine members. This move comes amid reports of the board exploring a potential replacement for CEO Elon Musk. Hartung, who will retire from Chipotle next month, previously served as the finance and accounting chief and was responsible for strategy and supply chain. The company also formed a special committee to review Musk’s compensation, potentially leading to a new stock options package for him. Joe Gebbia, co-founder of Airbnb, was the last addition to Tesla’s board in 2022.
