Netflix secures streaming rights for Sesame Street, develop video games for show.

Netflix has secured streaming rights to the next three seasons of “Sesame Street,” including a library of past episodes. New episodes will premiere globally on Netflix, with free access on PBS Kids in the U.S. Netflix will also develop video games for the show. The deal follows Warner Bros. Discovery’s decision not to renew its agreement with “Sesame Street.”

PBS KIDS senior VP Sara DeWitt emphasized the importance of public media for children’s education. Sesame Workshop CEO Sherrie Westin highlighted the partnership to provide free access to “Sesame Street” on PBS KIDS. The upcoming season will feature new segments and format changes, with episodes releasing in three batches later this year.
