Home Depot (NYSE:HD) exceeded revenue expectations in Q1 2025 with $39.86 billion, a 9.4% increase year-over-year, but narrowly missed on earnings at $3.56 per share, below the $3.59 estimate. Comparable sales globally declined 0.3%, but rose 0.2% in the U.S., impacted by currency fluctuations reducing total comp sales by 70 basis points.

Despite the earnings miss, Home Depot reaffirmed its fiscal 2025 outlook, expecting total sales growth of around 2.8%, comparable sales growth of about 1%, and a 2% decline in adjusted EPS from fiscal 2024’s $15.24. The company plans to open 13 new stores and maintain capital expenditures at around 2.5% of total sales, indicating continued investment despite earnings pressure.
