Andreessen Horowitz-backed studio Promise partners with Google on AI, adds investors

Generative AI studio Promise, backed by Andreessen Horowitz, partners with Google to use AI technologies. New investors include Google’s AI Futures Fund and Crossbeam Venture Partners. North Road Company, led by former News Corp President Peter Chernin, also invests. Promise will integrate Google’s AI into production pipeline and collaborate with DeepMind researchers.
Hollywood studios seek to reduce costs and speed up content creation with GenAI tools. Promise, founded by George Strompolos, Jamie Byrne, and Dave Clark, aims to capitalize on the GenAI boom. The company is working with Hollywood stakeholders to develop a multi-year lineup of content. Production of its first feature-length film is set to begin this year.
