Georgia carrier disputes top creditors’ claims in bankruptcy filing

BMX Transport filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Georgia, citing $1 million-$10 million in liabilities to between 100-199 creditors and $1 million-$10 million in assets.
Top creditors dispute claims, including a $250,000 negligence claim and $246,194 property damage reimbursement. BMX also faces a $159,350 claim from Pawnee Leasing Corp. and a federal lawsuit for $141,392 from Old Second National Bank.
SAFER data shows BMX employs 52 drivers, operates 49 power units, and has been involved in five crashes over two years, with two reporting injuries. FreightWaves reached out to BMX Transport for comment on the bankruptcy filing.
