Sensex Jumps 769 Points As US Bond Yields Ease; Nifty Tops 24,850

Indian shares surged on Friday as U.S. Treasury yields eased and oil prices remained low due to concerns about oversupply. Improved U.S. business activity and jobless claims data also boosted investor sentiment. The Sensex rose 0.95% to 81,721.08, led by consumer goods, financials, and IT stocks. The Nifty closed up 0.99% at 24,853.15 after the U.S. House passed Trump’s tax bill. Mid-cap and small-cap indexes also saw gains. Axis Bank, Nestle India, and Bajaj FinServ were among the top gainers, rising 2-4%. Overall, the market breadth was strong with more shares rising than falling.
