Beverage Digest released its annual data on America’s best-selling soda brands in 2024, ranking sodas based on sales performance. Coke maintained the top spot, Dr. Pepper moved to second, and Sprite surpassed Pepsi for the third spot. Pepsi fell to fourth place this year. The list also compared sodas with bottled water and sports drinks.

In a lawsuit, Pepsi and Coca-Cola were blamed for a plastic waste crisis in the US Virgin Islands. Dr. Pepper overtook Pepsi as the second best-selling soda in 2023. Sprite climbed to third place, pushing Pepsi to fourth. Beverage Digest also ranked other non-alcoholic beverage categories based on volume and dollar performance in 2024, including bottled water, juices, and energy drinks.
