The plan aims to offer green card privileges and a path to citizenship, but the steep cost may not attract many applicants. The proposal has also boosted interest in the more affordable EB-5 immigrant investor visa, with inquiries surging by 168% in the first quarter of this year compared to the previous quarter. The White House has not commented on the matter.
