Weyerhaeuser (WY) is acquiring 117,000 acres of timberlands in North Carolina and Virginia for $375M from Roseburg Forest Products. This will expand operations in the region, offering substantial value opportunities. The deal is expected to close in the third quarter and will be funded through divestitures of non-core timberlands.

The acquisition will add to Weyerhaeuser’s existing footprint in North Carolina and Virginia, totaling 744,000 acres and 150,000 acres respectively. The company anticipates immediate and sustained cash flows from the new timberlands, enhancing its Southern Timberlands business. The deal is subject to customary closing conditions and will involve over 600 employees.
