Koryx Copper Announces Further Highly Encouraging Drill
From GlobeNewswire: 2025-05-26 10:43:00
Koryx Copper Inc. has completed 29 out of 37 drill holes in Phase 2, totaling 8,647m of diamond drilling. Many results show higher Cu grades than the average MRE, with notable intercepts in HM62, HM51, HM64, HM58, HM66, and HM67. Additional man portable rigs are expected to start drilling later in 2025 to enhance the geological model and mineral resource estimation. Met testwork, infrastructure, and permitting studies are progressing as planned.
Results from the Phase 2 drill program at the Haib Copper Project in Namibia demonstrate incremental improvement, although at a slower pace than expected. More drill rigs are expected to arrive soon, allowing for increased drilling rates. Progress is also being made in met testwork components and ancillary studies, aiming for an updated technical report by the end of 2025. Work is ongoing to improve the geological model and mineral resource estimate for the project.
Assay results from 12 drill holes revealed significant mineralization, especially in Target 2 and Target 3. The continuous Cu mineralization within the system, along with the multi-element assays, is helping to define potential byproducts like Mo. The improved resources in the shallow areas are expected to lead to selective starter pit mining in the initial years of the mine schedule. The Phase 2 program is now expected to be completed by mid-year, with the Phase 3 program ending by Q1 2026.
All drill core samples were sent to ALS Laboratories Ltd. for analysis, with 33 elements analyzed by ICP and gold assayed using a fire assay method. The Company’s AGM results indicate approval of key items, including the re-election of directors. Koryx Copper is focused on advancing the Haib Copper Project in Namibia and building a portfolio of copper exploration licenses in Zambia. The Haib project aims to be a low-cost, low-risk open-pit copper project with significant potential for copper production.
