Sensex, Nifty Decline As Covid-19 Cases Increase

Indian shares plunged on Tuesday due to a spike in Covid-19 cases and U.S. tariff uncertainty. India has reported 1009 active cases as of May 26. The S&P BSE Sensex dropped 0.9% to 81,445, while the NSE Nifty fell 0.9% to 24,773. Decliners included ITC, TCS, Reliance Industries, and Axis Bank. InterGlobe Aviation and Sagility India saw losses after stake sale reports. Aurobindo Pharma rose 2.1% despite lower Q4 profit, while Nazara Technologies saw a 1% increase in revenue.
