The National Iranian Drilling Company (NIDC) completed drilling 20 oil and gas wells in two months, ending 21 May, using their own rigs. Majority of wells were in NISOC oilfields, with some in other areas. Total drilling depth reached 21,773m, up 1,619m from last year. 12 rigs were strategically relocated for efficiency.

The US escalates measures against Iranian oil trade, with Trump halting purchases of Iranian oil and petrochemical products. Secondary sanctions will be imposed on entities involved in transactions, potentially barring them from US business dealings. Russia and Iran agree to annual gas supplies of 55 billion cubic metres and Russian funding for a new nuclear power plant in Iran amid US pressure.
