US stock futures dip after sharp rally, focus on Nvidia earnings

U.S. stock index futures dipped after a strong rally, with Nvidia’s earnings in focus. The chipmaker is expected to report a 66.2% surge in revenue. Options market sees high volatility for VanEck Semiconductor ETF. Dow E-minis down 101 points, S&P 500 E-minis down 12 points, Nasdaq 100 E-minis down 38.25 points.

Megacap and growth stocks traded lower after Tuesday’s surge, Amazon.com and Meta Platforms down 0.4% each. Wall Street indexes soared after Trump delayed EU tariffs until July 9, for negotiations. S&P 500 and Nasdaq on track for best monthly showing since November 2023.

S&P 500 4% off record high from February, after Trump’s tariff announcements. Minutes from Fed’s last policy meeting set for release at 2 p.m. ET. Personal Consumption Expenditure data for April, second estimate of first-quarter GDP to be released later this week.

New York Fed President John Williams urges strong response to inflation deviations. Yields on 10-year U.S. government bonds slightly higher at 4.47%. Global bond markets under scrutiny for fiscal sustainability concerns in major economies like U.S. and Japan.
