Chevron investors reject stockholder proposals, Exxon faces none

Chevron shareholders voted against three stockholder proposals at their annual meeting, including a report on human rights practices. Exxon Mobil had no investor resolutions for the first time in decades. This year saw fewer ESG resolutions due to investor disinterest and lower returns in renewable energy projects, refocusing on oil and gas.

Chevron investors rejected resolutions for special meetings and a report on stranded assets from renewable energy. Exxon’s annual meeting had no qualifying shareholder resolutions for the first time since 1958. CEO Darren Woods attributed this to the company’s performance and pushback against detrimental proposals. All director nominees and executive compensation plans were approved.
