Business Insider is cutting 21% of its workforce due to declining search traffic and increased AI usage. CEO Barbara Peng stated revenue per website visit has doubled in the past two years, but 70% of the business is still traffic-sensitive. The company is focusing on AI adoption and exiting most of its commerce business. Washington Post and Associated Press also recently laid off employees to streamline operations.
