In 2025, only four of the world’s 10 richest people have increased their wealth, including Warren Buffett, known for beating the S&P 500 annually with Berkshire Hathaway. Despite some stock losses, Berkshire is up 12.2% year-to-date, outperforming the SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust’s 0.9% gain. Buffett’s wealth surged by $15.4 billion this year, ranking him seventh globally. His gain is the third largest in 2025, behind Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg. Comparatively, Buffett’s wealth equals the combined fortunes of Jensen Huang, Phil Knight, and Mark Cuban. Knight has lost $3.6 billion, while Cuban gained $366 million, and Huang increased by $3.6 billion in 2025. The year is not over, so wealth fluctuations are possible.
