Cathie Wood, head of Ark Investment Management, bought $13.9 million of a popular AI stock after a dip in prices. Her flagship Ark Innovation ETF has underperformed the S&P 500 this year, down 2.15% compared to the S&P’s 0.51% gain year-to-date. Wood’s investment strategy focuses on high-tech companies in AI, blockchain, biomedical tech, and robotics, causing major fluctuations in Ark funds’ values. Despite recent outflows, Wood remains optimistic about a potential productivity-led recovery in the U.S. and the acceleration of tech stocks. Wood recently added shares of Tempus AI, a health technology company that uses AI for diagnostics. Tempus AI’s stock plunged after a report raised concerns about its management and AI services, but the company reported strong revenue growth in the first quarter. Wood continues to make moves in the market, buying shares of other tech companies like Nvidia and Advanced Micro Devices while trimming positions in Tesla and Roblox.
