Sensex, Nifty Tumble As Trade Worries Return To Haunt

Escalating Russia-Ukraine tensions also weighed on investor sentiment. The Sensex fell 0.9 percent, while Nifty dropped 0.8 percent. Tech Mahindra, HCL Technologies, and HDFC Bank saw declines of around 2 percent, Tata Motors fell 1 percent on lower May sales, and Dr. Reddy’s Labs dropped 1 percent due to a patent infringement suit. EaseMyTrip reported a 59 percent decline in Q4 net profit, while Apollo Hospitals rose 2.3 percent amid plans to sell its maternity unit.
