Brunvoll has secured a contract from Samsung Heavy Industries to provide thruster and control system packages for nine DP2 shuttle tankers owned by Tsakos Energy Navigation. The order includes 45 thrusters, making it Brunvoll’s largest contract by volume and value. The vessels will be leased to Transpetro, a Petrobras subsidiary.

Each vessel will be equipped with three retractable azimuth thrusters, two tunnel thrusters, Brunvoll’s BruCon PTC, and BruCon CMS. The contract will significantly contribute to Brunvoll’s future factory utilization and after-sales service. Tsakos Energy Navigation’s fleet will expand to sixteen shuttle tankers with this order, all using Brunvoll’s thruster systems.

Two shuttle tankers under construction at Samsung Heavy Industries will soon join Tsakos Energy Navigation’s fleet. Brunvoll’s commitment to quality products and services has garnered an increasing market share within the shuttle tanker industry. The company’s reliability and performance in challenging offshore conditions have solidified its position in the market.

In addition to the Samsung Heavy Industries contract, Brunvoll previously entered a contract with VARD for a Service Operation Vessel (SOV) project. The contract included various hardware components and Brunvoll’s Propulsion and Thruster control system. “Brunvoll lands largest thruster contract with Samsung Heavy Industries” was originally reported by Ship Technology.
